The Cake!

More wedding photos. I figured out last night that at the moment with the pics the photographers took, disposable cameras and 3 friends/family - we have over 900 pictures! I'm lovin' it! You know us scrapbookers love the photos!

So here are are some cake pictures. Bill's aunt made our cake for us. It was homemade chocolate cake - good heavy chocolate cake! Yum-o, already looking forward to cutting into that puppy again on our first anniversary! Enjoy!

PS: She failed to teach us how to cut into a wedding cake. There was a lot of stabbing action involved in getting the piece to come out - which actually fell onto the table first. HEHE! O well, our first wedding cake cutting and our last.

I am alive & have a new name!

I am alive! I survived the wedding! I bet some of you were wondering if I would ever post again. The wedding was beautiful, we truly could not have written a better day for ourselves. Here's a few pics. The banner was made by my good friend Joyce - isn't it wonderful! I must get back to designing my thank you cards...it never ends!

Got can opener?

I didn't until today. Okay, so that's not completely accurate - I HAD 2 of them. I had one of those cool "as seen on TV" just press the button and it opens itself deal - well it began to die. The first time it died mid-way through opening a can, which I had to pry it off - I thought the batteries had just died. So the second time I tried it with brand new batteries, it dies again half way around a can - I beat it off the can in using the sink as my tool - calling it several expletives and finally it meeting it's fate to the garbage can.

The second one - a manual hand cranker. Finally decided it was too dull to open another can. It too met it's fate in the garbage can.

So today I go to make dinner - alas I need a can opener to open 3 cans. Did I remember to get one on the 300th trip to Walmart or Target this week - NO! So off I got to Target - wedding gift card in hand. I came home with this little gem.
It's wonderful!!!!!!!! It actually opens cans like a can opener should. So anyhow - here's what I was trying to make when Viva La Can Opener Revolution started. It's super yummy!

Tater Tot Casserole

1 lb. Ground Beef
1 Onion - chopped
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 cans French Cut Green Beans
1-2 cups French's Onions
2 cups Shredded Cheddar Blend Cheese
1 can milk
Tater Tots - enough to cover bottom of casserole dish

Line bottom of casserole dish (roughly a 3 quart dish) with tater tots - like pictured. Brown ground meat with chopped onion - transfer to casserole dish atop tots. Drain beans and layer on top of meat. Mix soup with a can of whole milk - pour over layers in casserole. Cover with cheese - I like mine cheesy. Cover top with French's onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. YUM!
