Life has been crazy...

Sorry I haven't written since last Sunday. Work has had me super busy and when I've gotten home I don't feel like doing much on a computer. I went to work at 6:15AM yesterday and never left till 6:30PM! I'm still a little buried in work. The new regime has been making a lot of changes, which means a load of work for me.

The wedding is now just 22 days away! HOLY COW!!! We just did our seating chart last night for the tables at the barn. That was trying, but now it's done. We'll we're off for more fun wedding related activities.

Have you checked out our wedsite?

The girl who doesn't wear makeup...

So Saturday my matron of honor and bff Kim and I went to Sephora in Ross Park in search of wedding makeup. I typically or actually in the last 3 years haven't really worn makeup. I just don't get all geeked out about it like I use to. I can remember looking through magazines lusting after the newest line from Urban Decay - now I look through different magazines lusting after the newest release of patterned paper from Basic Grey. After wandering around Sephora for a while - or as I like to refer to it as "fluorescent hell" (it is SO bright in there) - I finally got my make up done, by this great guy Alex. Alex is the kind of guy you meet and want to make him your best girlfriend and want to steal his facial secrets. He did a fabulous job on my makeup and was brutally honest about makeup and colors. I ended up going with what I had originally set out for Bare Escentuals starter set plus a few other things, including an eyeshadow from Urban Decay named Mildew. I can see how a girl could get totally swept up in Sephora - it is a cool store if your into makeup. But word to the wise - it's not exactly cheap. My splurge was $125.19! But I'm only doing this marriage thing once - so dang it - I'm treating myself!

Crazy kids...

It's hard to believe that tomorrow will be exactly one month till the day these kids say "I DO"! I'm almost freakin' out...but I've still got plenty of time for a major freak out.

Another sneek peek...

Here's a peek at part of the centerpieces for the wedding. They will have potted mums in varied colors in them when on the tables. The tag reads "I have a garden of my own shining with flowers of every hue, I loved it dearly while alone, but I shall love it more with you - Thomas Moore". I got the buckets from the Dollar Spot at Target - they were a major score for only $1 each - whoa whoooo! And of course I used Basic Grey paper - my favorite!

Bridal Shower Mania!

I know I'm a few days behind, but I'm tryin'! So my bridal shower was on Sunday - I was mega stressed out, but apparently I hid it well, or so I'm told. Minus the craziness of the day I had fun and it was great to see my friends and family. Here's a pic of the pretty centerpieces we had... more photos to come.

Grr...

Did you ever have one of those day (non-menstraul related) that you want to rip someones face off for the littlest thing and no matter what your doing they still want to bother you? Well - I'm having one of those days. More to come...when the mood changes!

Remembering you...

Happy 70th birthday Pap Bill! I wish you were here for us to celebrate, but you had to go away suddenly in May.

Thinking about you I have realized the amazing mark you have left on my life. You are the reason I love photography - I cannot ever remember a family event that you did not have a camera or video camera in his hand. (You can't see much of it, but there is an old 110 camera in the photo and that's me too.)

I know you're the reason I love of photography. That love has lead hand in hand down the path of the paper crafts that I do which is also a great love of mine. I can still hear you say "that's pretty damn neat Chele" every time I would show you some new crafting thing that I made - I know you truly appreciated the "stuff" I would make.

You were always jolly, smiling and full of laughter - which for the most part I am - or try to be and am thankful for that.

And in some way also, I have one of your weird quirks. You and your thing for ears! (it sounds strange, I know), but every time you wanted to pick on us a little you would grab the lobe of your ear and rub it - just enough to annoy you.

It seems funny but it's things like that I miss the most. I miss you!

Somewhere over the...

Have you ever heard Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole's version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow? This song has become my most recent favorite. Being a little more emotional than usual lately - it brings a tear to my eye. The first time I ever heard it was when I watched a Happy 1st Birthday video my friend Erica made for her little girl. (It made me cry then too) Just thought I'd share!

TGIF!!!

Happily it's Friday - I love short work weeks, but it always seems like you cram the same amount of work in no matter what.

Well the bridal shower is tomorrow and I'm so excited! I can't wait to see everyone, I haven't seen some of my friends and family in what seems like ages. Also, I have my second dress fitting tomorrow, I think my dress should be done and not need any more alterations - YIPPEE!! Here's a sneak peek! Obviously, that's not me!

Target makes me :)

So on a random trip to Target today to return some vases we bought for the wedding....I wandered into the scrapbooking section. Imagine that! And I found these little nuggets-o-joy for only $1.99. They had about maybe 15 different ones and also ink pad sets.

I love how paper crafting items have magically appeared everywhere. I'm especially lovin' it when they show up in dollar bins.

Not to be anymore of an enabler - BUT the new stuff in Target's dollar spot is fab! I managed to spend $15 in that little section. Note the loot I brought home - felt self adhesive shapes (leaves, apples, pumpkins & acorns), 2 chipboard alpha sets, ribbon, mini alpha rubber stamp set, printed brads and 3 lever paper punches (a decorative corner, leaf & acorn).

Hmm....maybe after the wedding I'll actually get to use some of this stuff. I should have plenty of pics to gather inspiration from.

I better ease up - two posts in one day. I don't want to over do it!

First post...

Okay so I've kicked around the idea of my own blog for a long time now. I finally did it at a time when I couldn't be busier, wedding fastly approaching in 39 days! But here it is my own blog! I'm still working on the set up of things - so more to come. Promise!
