Presents!

I went to my class tonight and got presents! I so love that! Check this out - my friend Bethanie made this for us. She knows me too well - she used Basic Grey papers that I love so much. Currently I have it standing up on the plate rail in our dining room and it's too cute. I really do love it! I love my crafty friends!

Bev's Boxes

I have to give a shout out to my friend Bev who's Goodie Box class I took tonight at YMP. Check these out! Are these not the cutest. Love them! I will totally be recreating some of these for the holidays. Thanks again Bev!!!

Ahh... it's Wednesday and raining, but it was like 65 degrees in mid November, I can dig it. Things have been crazy busy, the time has flown by - we've been married a month already. The dining room still hasn't quite recovered from being wedding central.

I've been busy working on my ornaments for my first ever swap that is sponsored by Say It With Letters. I hope my swapees are impressed with my ornaments - I will post them in an upcoming post - don't want to give away any surprises.

So I finally pulled off the pics of the zoo I took 3 weeks ago. The weather is raining and dreary outside - so enjoy these cute critters! I so love the zoom on my camera!

My altered ego strikes again...

So I went to Target tonight to kill some time and I always make sure I cruise through the scrapbooking and stationary areas. I spotted these neat monogrammed cards with matching envelopes on clearance - realizing that my options of monograms left were X, I and U.

Not helpful! - Until BLING! my craft-dar went off. I can alter these with my Quickutz, my Martha Stewart punch and stamps! So anyhow I picked all 3 packs up that were left - at 34 cents for a pack of 12 with matching envelopes - how could I not, at merely 3 cents a piece! So here's what happens at 2:40am when I can't sleep. Man, it's great to get crafty again.

Thanksgiving is soon upon us...

So I bought these books at Target in the dollar spot along with some other goodies in September and finally got to use one of them. Yeah! I made a Thanksgiving book using last years pictures (at least I didn't get lapped a year) and thankful cards.

Last year was the first Thanksgiving we had ever hosted. So we had 12 people crammed in our dinning room along with all the food. I wanted everyone to eat together, so we had to load up our plates in shifts. It was actually pretty comical.

So anyhow, last year I decorated and recycled a vegetable can with a little sign that said "What are you thankful for? Write me a note". I placed pieces of kraft cardstock in it for everyone to write on. I included the cards in the book. I'm pleased with how it turned out and it's really neat to see what people wrote - including my now father in law's note of thankfulness of "teeth that work". Apparently, he was happy for his new dentures....you would have to know him :) Yes, Bill made the big bird last year. He did a great job and it was awesome!

Caramel Apples!

Did I tell you the one about 12 hours of making caramel apples? NO? Yes our wedding favors were caramel apples. They were very tasty! It took us 12 hours to make 200 apples. We started at 7pm and finished around 7am - non stop apple carameling madness!

Also, new update to the blog - the flickr link to my flickr photos. Check it out - there are lots of photos from the wedding, bachelorette party (beware) and of the caramel insanity.
