Swaps...

I joined these two swaps today. That's one way of getting my butt in the creative mode. More to come on these soon. I plan on cleaning up more of the studio this weekend. I need to get the boxes outta there and get the creative mojo in.

Hellooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can only imagine my lack of blog upkeep has been due to #1 its summertime and #2 busy trying to put together and do upkeep on the new house. Bill and I did manager to escape for a long weekend of camping...although it was a soggy mess for all but 1 1/2 of the days. We had to unpack everything, hose it down and set it all back up to dry when we got home - of course it did not rain for the rest of that day. This is our camp site in the Allegheny National Forest, a pick of Bill being the fire mater and me vegging while reading Paper Crafts in the hammock. I heart that hammock!! and thankfully to this day I have never plummeted to the ground in it.

The following day we spend the entire day doing yard work. It's amazing how much work there is to be done. I love the landscaping that was done by the previous owners, but they require some up keep. Especially, since other than mowing the lawn the last couple of months, not much else has been done. Lots of weeding by hand and by weed whacker. So much weed whacking in fact that we had to go buy another spool of line the same day to continue. It's a very gratifying to look at the work you've just slaved over and realize, yep that's ours. All of the outdoor work has left me with quite the sunburn - yeah I realized 3 hours in that I had no sunblock on - nor did I realize I would be out there all day either.

My scrapbook space is becoming less of a shambles. I have a huge bin of items that I feel I no longer need, but apparently I felt the need when we moved to pack them all. I signed up at the Scrapbook Super Station for their Scrap Yard Sale in September to help sell off my unwanted goods. If you get a chance to go when they have their yard sale - GO!! You can get some great deal and some good finds. I have been a seller once before and a buyer plenty of times and found some great things. Stamp sets and Quickutz for a bargain, you name it. I can't wait to get back in my space and get to creating. I've picked up a load of inspiration lately - so hopefully I can get back at it soon. Also, so beloved crafty gals have been asking me to post new creations...hopefully they will be coming soon.

Well I'm off to attempt to finish another project!

We've moved!!!!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post - BUT I have a very good excuse...we moved into our first home in the village of Meridian!!!

I was being pretty tight lipped about the whole process - I'm not really superstitious, but I wasn't going to take any chances. We are settling in nicely and the sight of cardboard box mountains are slowly disappearing.

It is a 3 bedroom cape cod, 2 full baths, 2 stall garage, finished basement with .85 acres and we absolutely love it! It's 62 years old, the original owners lived here for 60 years, raised their family and moved into a townhouse, the second owner only lived here for 1 1/2 years and moved for business reasons and now us to raise our family here. O - no surprises coming - the family we are planning. We need to get use to having a space of our own first before adding any piddle paddle of little feet. The only little feet in the house at this moment are those of the kitties - which are loving the all of the windows to birdwatch from.

One of their favorite places to birdwatch from and ours is our enclosed front porch. I have already enjoyed a coffee and reading the paper here. I only showed you the little cute side - the rest is a mess still at the moment, but I'm looking forward to getting a nice comfy set of chairs for relaxing and reading on.

And yes!!! I do have a craft room / office. We took the larger of the two upstairs bedrooms and are turning it into our craft and office space. Currently this is what one of the corners look like. As you can see that cats are supervising my mess. I will hopefully sooner than later be back at crafting in this area. I had to laugh at our friends who helped us move that dubbed every one of my craft boxes as crap boxes - ummm...yeah I cleaned stuff out, but I still had loads of stuff - I'm sure all of you can relate. They were even more enthused when we said - "oh, that goes up stairs"...yeah I'll be making them all something nice down the road, with my "crap" supplies.

Well, I better get back at it. More updates to come!

Spring is trying to spring...

Has it really been since January since I've posted last? Good Grief, Charlie Brown!!! Sorry to everyone that usually read my blog. It's been a little bit of everything to be honest about not posting.

I haven't even been craft lately! Although I did just sign up for a Sweet Sentiments Tag swap and I have until the end of May to get them shipped out - I think that should be ample time to make 16 tags. You know I'll wait till that last week and freak out about getting them done - well I will try not to do that. My friend Bev alerted me of the swap and it turns out that we are in the same swap group - SWEET!
We've been house hunting. What a tiring thing! We've had our hearts broken a couple times already - turns out those houses that have been on the market for like 2 years are suddenly under agreement the minute you want to look at them. But today we went to 2 open houses and scoped out a few other potentials. We've decided to put a bid in on the one. So cross your fingers! I'm sure we'll need it - since that's just been our luck. More to come as that unfolds.

So has it not been great to hear birds chirping? Even though it's currently 40 degrees, raining and super windy- I'm totally looking forward to warmer days. I was inspired to break out a couple of cheery spring items, even though we are already packing away non-essential items. I just had to! Look how sweet they are!
