Tuesday's Treasures was delayed this week due to the scanner being on the fritz. I found this really cool clipping in an old book I bought from an antique store a year ago. It's so neat to read. Enjoy!!!

Sneek Peaks & Treasure Hunting
I was at a couple of the local thrift store this past weekend and I found some serious treasure! First of all I saw this hug tin and was really hoping that it contained what I was hoping for. I opened it and it did not disappoint me - I actually think I squealed when I opened it. Look what was inside! BUTTON HEAVEN!!!
All for $7.99 - then I was even more excited when I remembered having a 60% off coupon on everything I bought - then I was in thriftiness shock! I also came home with these other treasures. Some vintage mason jars, a couple of cool baskets (the one really looks like a nest), an old hymnal, shakers and floral making supplies.
I also have a sneak peek for the Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue swap. So excited to wrap up the goodies and ship them out this weekend.

Tuesday's Treasures
Another Tuesday - another set of treasures to be found. These are from my personal collection. Can you believe I got these at my local flea market for 50 cents each? Love that place. I just love looking at the furniture and clothing styles from these photos. Wouldn't that carriage be gorgeous? Enjoy!

How many of you craft things, but never anything for yourself? Yeah me too! I finally made something just for me. I made this nest banner to hang above my bed or my "nest". The birds and nest are from collage sheets from Lisa's Altered Art. I used Quickutz diecuts for the branches, letters and layered shapes under the letters.
I had a little help while I was making this banner. Simon wouldn't leave me be, so I had to pull him up a chair. SPOILED!

Saturday Fun!
I had so much fun yesterday on National Scrapbooking Day...even though I did not make a single thing, I did have a blast with my friend Joyce hunting for treasure at the flea market. Here are some of the goodies I found. First of all both Joyce & I walked away from this vendor with little treasures, here is mine. It is a bracelet made from silverware handles! I love it! She had all different fun items, from windchimes, wall hookes, necklaces and butter knife book marks - all were made from knifes, forks and spoons! We were able to swap out what charms we wanted and I choose this lovely little bird. Joyce choose a sweet little pair of scissors.
Here are some of my other treasures. Two more bottles for my collection - an old Barq's bottle, that was bottled just a few towns over from mine and a Bayer Aspirin bottle. Some vintage trims in peach, pink and silver. Some more buttons! A sweet milky white little Avon dish and some roses.
Also found this cute little shakers to use for button bouquet holders and of course more buttons. I went back a local thrift store in search of more of the blue button, that I had only bought one bag of to find not only more of those, but also two bags of the white buttons - for 99 cents each!
A day before my flea market finds, I went to the local Goodwill that I work at, in search of treasures on my day off. The quote on the sign they have out front is dead on "Treasures found here everyday". Here are the treasures I found. A new crate! That now makes three in my collection, so now I have Coke, Pepsi & 7 Up. I can't wait to but these up on the wall with all of my bottles. Then a flour canister, that will come to hold some crafting supplies, I'm sure of that.
Next, something I have been drooling over for a while, but haven't been able to find any in my price range, boxes from a sewing cabinet! They need some cleaning up, but I love them all the same. Then a sweet little child's glass bowl with silver plate and spoon.
Well I hope you enjoyed looking at my treasures. Today is a rainy, dreary day here, which means a perfect day to stay indoors, clean and craft! I'm off for now!

I was looking through the sea of photos I have saved and realize there were a couple of swaps that in my absence from blogging, I failed to post. So here is a rewind to add those projects so sadly missed from posting.
The first one is from the Altered Cabinet Card Swap from A Swap For All Seasons. This one was fun and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this sour puss as soon as I saw here..Bah Humbug! I wanted it to have a quilted look to it, so I cut down, inked and realigned 1x1 pieces of Basic Grey. I then made a mini banner that hangs from two snowflake brads.
And sadly the second one...I can't remember what swap it was from! I didn't have a blog icon to remember, but here it is either way. I do know it was from a Valentine swap! I used a 5x7 canvas board, painted and distressed it. The little girl is a vintage valentine that I found at a local antique store and the quote is something that we have a tendency to overlook at times...ourselves. Don't forget to love yourself!
